Tools and Materials

Here we are with a broken turn signal for a Vulcan 750, it’s sunny outside and we need some fixin’ so we can get out and enjoy the day.

This may be hard to believe, but all we need is one tool and one supply. A common utility-knife and an even more common Bic pen.

The plan is to use the pen to bridge the space where the break is by wedging it inside the housing where the wires pass through. I cut the pen in half (after removing the ink etc.) leaving two segments roughly 2.5-3 inches long.

Originally I tried to just cut a slit in the segment lengthwise but the resulting diameter was still to large to fit. I then made another cut lengthwise effectively removing a slice about 1/8 of an inch wide.
